Fishery report

We had the first full week without ice on the pools so far this year and the milder conditions saw the fishing improve on all of the pools. MOLANDS  steadily got better as the week went on and there were a number of double figure carp being caught in matches and by pleasure anglers. The water is still very clear so the better catches are coming from the far bank or down the middle and bomb or waggler with pellet/wafter or a small method feeder with wafter has been best approach  GEARYS has been good with  80lb + nets of carp  being caught along the high bank with method feeder with bread, pole with banded 6mm hard pellet or bomb with pellet/ wafter the best tactics. LITTLE GEARYS was the most consistent with F1s showing on most pegs and nets to around 70lb winning matches with f1s to 6lb and carp to 15lb featuring in nets.Long pole at 14.5m or short at 5m with maggot has been the top tactic but dobbing bread has also worked well .Both the SIBLINGS pools fished tough this again week with dobbing bread the most effective tactic fished across to the island or far bank. ANNIES is producing nets to 60b and f1s and small carp are coming to pole fished maggot or expander pellet with the pegs at the top end of the pool from 1-10 and 20-23 in the best form. WILLOW pool has picked up with carp and f1s coming to pole with maggot or pellet with nets to 45lb  and pegs 5- 10 have been the most consistent.
